This product is truely amazing, and I don't say this lightly.
If your pet has tartar build-up, you should try this; I promise you, you will be glad you did.
Two and a half years ago we found a small poodle on our back porch. I took her to the vet for a check-up, and he estimated her age to be around 9.We were never able to locate her owners, and have come to believe that she was put there by someone who could no longer care for her.Her cataracts were so bad, that she could not see.I have managed to clear them up somewhat with another product.
Her teeth have had some amount of tartar ever since, in spite of having her on another product that is added to her drinking water.
Unwilling to put her through the danger of anesthesia to have her teeth cleaned by the vet, the last time the other product ran out, I came online to order more, and stumbled on this product.
That was only a month ago.
Her teeth now have almost no tartar left, and I fully expect them to be as clean as the pictures on the manufacturer's web site.
It freshens her breath when I spray it on; it has a very pleasant minty smell.
She doesn't much care for the sound of the spray, so when this runs out, I will order the gel.
The price may seem expensive at first look, but this bottle is going to last a long time; I'm guessing about 6 months.
I am absolutely amazed at what this product has done for her teeth, and I could not be happier.
Tartar build up, and teeth decay, can lead to serious complications, such as infection, and heart disease, which can lead to an untimely death if not caught in time.
I gave this a 5 star rating, but it deserves a 10.

Omega Paw Self-Cleaning Litter Box, Large Review

I don't sing the praises of a product unless it really impresses me.But the Roll 'n Clean is worthy.Oh yes. Let me preface this review by emphasizing just how much I HATE scooping, and I'm not a hateful person.I used to put off cleaning my cats box for a week or more because I just didn't want to deal with it.(Yes I know, bad pet owner, I'm sure PETA is sending over a strike force rescue team as I type this.)But then I found the Roll and Clean.Here is a list of things that make it simply awesome.

1. No Scooping (Obvious I know but worth repeating.)
2. Reduced smell. No more smelling the cat box from the driveway. (This is probably just a side effect from me cleaning the box more often than before.)
3. Cuts cleaning time down by roughly 60% opening up your schedule to clean up the cat vomit on your nightstand.
4. It VERY affordable.As in less than $50.
5. I love it.Possibly more than I love my cat.
6. My cat loves it, most assuredly more than she loves me.

What you need to know.

When I first got the Roll 'n Clean I was using Feline Pine cat litter because I try to be environmentally friendly or at least convince myself that I am.However that litter was way too light and so it wouldn't filter properly.You had to actually pick it up turn it on its side and physically shake it to make it work.So it became basically a giant enclosed scoop.So I switched to Swheat scoop which is a wheat based litter and that worked like a charm.There is the problem of the more wet clumps sticking to the bottom of the box, but you don't need to bang the bottom of the box to shake it loose and you definitely DO NOT need to get out the cursed scoop.I simply invested a $1.00 on a long handled spatula and as I roll it over I just reach in without removing the lid and with one quick flick of the wrist all the cling-ons come free.If that seems like too much work for you there is another litter called Worlds Best that should minimize the cling-ons.

Her breed has very thick, deep, long fur and the shampoo it came with, the Ultra Cleaning, got all the way through it and cleaned it nicely, leaving her clean and smelling good for longer than I expected. Her fur even looks healthier!
This is my third bath using one cartridge and she is a good sized dog, so I'm not sure why others have commented that they only got one usage out of it (?) unless you have a St. Bernard or something, but even then, I'm sure you could at least get a 2nd one.
I'm very happy with it and have just ordered more shampoo cartridges.
Oh, one more thing, I have even OFFERED to wash my sister's dog and a friend of mines two dogs!

Very disappointed with this product. I bought it to clean my Iwata Revolution airbrush but not even the finer/smaller brush will enter the airbrush needle passage.
After some struggling and bending it a couple of times in the process it did enter but the fit was so tight I couldnt move it back and forth so it couldnt perform any cleaning of it at all.
When pulling it out "by force", several bristles came loose inside the airbrush.

Weber 7409 One-Touch Cleaning System Review

If you are as attached to outdoor cooking on Weber kettle grills as I am, you'll know that over time the peripheral parts will show their age: handle covers (less so now that they've changed from wood to plastic), cooking grates, charcoal grates and the one-touch cleaning system eventually succumb to heat and weather.

This is not a fault with these parts, just a testament to the long service life of the kettle and cover. The two kettles in my back yard are 15 and 10 years old; not pampered, they spend winters outdoors in the mid-Atlantic elements).

This is a replacement one touch cleaner for the 10-year old one. It fit perfectly, was reasonably priced, and will keep the grill moving towards its second decade of service.

Earth Friendly Products Window Kleener with Vinegar, Non-Streaking, Non-Polluting, 22 Ounces (Pack of 12) Review

Having been frustrated for years by the streaks that Windex and similar cleaners leave, and knowing that professionals (and my mother) used vinegar to wash windows, we thought we'd give the Earth Friendly cleaner a try. We've only used it for about a month on the windows in our sun room (where any streaks will be VERY evident when the sun rises) and on car windows. It is MUCH better than Windex at not leaving streaks and smears, but does leave some. However, that may be partly due to my not changing the wipe rag often enough. Regardless, we would definitely chose this cleaner over Windex. Bought in Amazon's 12-pack, the per-bottle cost is about the same as Windex and it's definitely a superior glass cleaner.

One thing you have to get used to with it versus Windex is that it does not evaporate nearly as quickly, and therefore requires a longer wipe time (as does a home-made vinegar cleaner). Doesn't bother us, but something to consider if you have arthritis, fibromyalgia or similar affliction.

I don't know how I happened to buy a bottle of this stuff over Christmas...but I just found it under my sink....and wow...this stuff really works well...my kids play baseball and I use it to pretreat the stains with great success. It's called a multi-purpose cleaner and doesn't mention laudry as it's top uses, But I've tried it on stoves, bathrooms, patio furniture...it works fast and hard. The bottle says it smells like Ylang Ylang. Now I personally have never seen, touched, or otherwise experienced a ylang ylang plant but if I were to imagine what it would look like based on the smell of this shower spray I'd guess it crawled on all fours and wears a diaper. I'm not sure what it is, but something about this scent reminds me of a baby or a nursery.

Beyond the odd scent, it works rather well. I started with a clean shower and used the product after after shower, misting the walls and curtain. The curtain has remained mildew and residue free as well as most of the tub, and the faucet and other chrome fixtures have remained shiny and clean much longer than normal.

I also appreciate that I'm not filling my bathroom with chemical fumes every day.

LitterMaid LME9000 Elite Mega Advanced Automatic Self-Cleaning Litter Box Review

I bought this item after having two previous littermaids that lasted me three years and three months respectfully. Unfortunately, this machine is the best of a bad lot, and the "new" elite IS made a lot flimsier than the prior ones, at least insofar as the top and bottom shell are concerned.

BUT, I was having the same problems as some of the other reviewers, and really disgusted with the elite when I reread the little manual that comes with it again. I noted that the manual said to fill the pan to the fill line of the hand scooper provided. When I looked at the hand scooper, I saw that the line on it was higher than I thought. I filled the pan to the line - a good 1-2 inches, and it has worked fine ever since.

The secret that they don't tell you is that, unlike the prior machine where you always had to worry about overfilling the pan, with the elite you have to not underfill it. I realized that the long thin tines of the automatic scooper are made to go throught a thick layer of litter. If you don't fill it to the fill line indicated on the hand scooper, the rake will glide over the solid waste and not deposit it in the pan. Try it. It worked for me, at least up till this point.

UPDATE: Well that point didn't last long. I spend as much time scooping as when I didn't have an "automatic" litter box. What a piece of #@&^%. I have now ordered one of the older models from Amazon. They were bad, but not as bad as this. A good auto litter box is an invention that needs an inventor. In the meantime, stay away from this one.

Further update: The older LM900 model is still a far better machine to the point where I bought another from Amazon for $69 to keep in reserve in case I can't find them in the future.
PS. I threw the "new advanced" hunk of junk out in the trash.

Nov '06--My cat is a 13 pounder, poops about 5 times a day--and boy does it stink! I feel that cleaning a cat box several times a day is a real pain, but then so is cleaning it up off the basement rug every day if I dont clean the box soon enough for "his highness"!This thing is GREAT!Ok, I've only had it for 5 days now, and it specifically says on the box that for larger cats or multiple cats, the cartrige will NOT last 30 days--the container is full (like I said, he poops A LOT) BUT!! I really dont mind taking the scoop and scooping out the container once a week--I have to do this because replacement cartriges are $15 or so (that's the really bad part) I still have to see if it will take all his urine for 30 days, but in the mean time: The smell is gone, he doesnt track litter everywhere (I used clumping before and he left a real mess--along with the smell) just a few of the crystals get on the floor, I dont have to clean the box daily (as well as the basement carpet), and it works.One thing to note, I did not realize how BIG the thing is, and I also didnt think about plugging it in--so you may have to revise where you put it.Also, it's not perfect--some of the poop got behind the rake, and got stuck, but whoopie, no big deal to take a piece of toilet paper, and pull it off. I may look into reusing cartriges (waxed cardboard boxes with scoop free crystals dumped into it) and adding crystals from a bottle, but that may not be possible, because waxed cardboard can only take so much wetness--but that may be an option. I think a bottle of the stuff is around $15 too, but you may get 2 or 3 uses out of it, rather than just the one.

**update**1 1/2 months--I still love it. It lasts about 14 days, with a once per week clean out of the poop trap. The crystals never smells like urine, but there is a smell after that amount of time (big cat).cant use a litter liner as the rake can get stuck--or kitty's nails, so I'm still working on a way to refill more cheaply--but no more "accidents" on the carpet.

Dyson Allergy Cleaning Kit Review

I bought this because I really wanted more attachments than those that came with our Dyson (which, as anallergic asthmatic with cats, I love). The mattress attachment and dust brush are the most useful to me. I vac. mattresses at least once a week and have a huge selection of bookcases that quickly become dusty. I've used the narrow wand for getting lint out of the clothes dryer. It really doesn't work well for much anything else. What is really missing from Dyson is a longer hose. This collection would be so much better with that omission corrected.

Hoover SteamVac Carpet Cleaner with Clean Surge, F5914-900 Review

If your new machine LEAKS, see note #2 below. I am just amazed at how many people write that their machine leaked from day one, and they returned it. It will leak if you skip a crucial one-time set-up step.

Paid $170 at Best Buy. This is my first carpet cleaner so I have nothing to compare it to except my own expectations. Even though the name is SteamVac, like all the others in this class of cleaners, there is no Steam to it. That's just false marketing, but all the manufacturers do it, so no particular knock on Hoover.

First, let me say I'm ashamed to admit that our carpet hadn't been cleaned in 4 years, and that we live in the country where lots of dirt gets tracked in from outside. So the carpet was pretty darn dirty. The Hoover F5914-900 did a very nice job the first time I used it - a drastically noticeable difference in the appearance of the carpet. The water in the dirty water receptacle was black. Did it return the carpet to new condition? No, impossible. Will it take another treatment or two to really get it clean? Yes, that is the price I pay for ignoring wet-cleaning the carpet for years. One of this cleaner's best features is the ability to dry the carpet quite thoroughly. Since the front of the machine is made of clear plastic, you can see when you're vacuuming up water. If you want to dry the carpet as much as possible, keep vacuuming until you no longer see water being pulled up. As time has passed, the SteamVac has done an excellent job of maintaining my carpets.

My only gripe is that the dirty water container fills up too quickly and should be a little bigger. Ideally, the dirty water receptacle "should" be full right as you run out of clean water. Then, you shut down, empty the dirty water, refill the clean water and back to work. But this process gets out-of-sync with the dirty water receptacle filling up before you run out of clean water. So this can be a little inconvenient, but not a show-stopper.

The machine is well constructed but it IS plastic, with lots of compartments and latches and hose holders, etc, so one must simply be careful or those things will no doubt break off.A few other notes:
1. If you are not the type to read manuals, do read this one. Assembly and operation are easy if you sit down and read the manual through before starting. It's not like a vacuum cleaner where you just plug it in and go.

2. My machine leaked badly BUT it was my own fault. There is a one-time only setup procedure where you squeeze the trigger and push the Clean-Surge button to lock a rod into place. Push the Clean-Surge button firmly. There may be a loud SNAP which sounds like you broke something, but you didn't. Until you get that snap, the Clean-Surge (which releases extra water-cleaner solution) is on all the time, hence the leaking. I didn't push the button hard enough initially, so I had the leak problem.

Apparently many people are assuming that without a loud snap, the Clean Surge will not work. All that matters is that your machine doesn't leak. If your SteamVac doesn't leak, it is assembled properly and the Clean Surge will work!!! The only reason I emphasized the "snap" was because so many people were having leak problems, which are easily solved. And it's possible that Hoover has changed the design after getting so many returns from people who didn't read the instructions in the manual. So don't get hung up on the snap. If your machine does leak after assembly, you know what to do.

3. ANY time it seems like there is no suction, the problem is that something is not seated properly. It is easy to snap the lid onto the dirty water container without lining it up properly, which causes a vacuum leak. If there is a vacuum leak, there is no suction at the bottom of the machine, where it is needed to suck up water from the carpet. So recheck the dirty water lid.

4. If you have velvet or velvetine furniture, do NOT use the powered tool, use the utility tool. The powered tool is too strong for delicate fabric.

5. Like others have suggested, find a cheap alternative to the Hoover brand carpet detergent. One gallon of water doesn't clean a lot of carpet, and at 5 oz of soap per gallon, you go thru it fast.

6. Always be sure to dry vacuum your carpet with a regular vacuum cleaner first before using this machine to wash it. Be sure to remove and clean the brushes when you're done using this machine. Otherwise hair, thread, and balled up carpet fibers will dry on them and between them. Then the brushes won't turn. These are not "use and put away" machines like vacuum cleaners, they're "use, clean, and put away".

7. Here's something I do which you *might* want to try. For a very dirty carpet, I fill a cheap plastic 2 gallon watering can (or smaller for a smaller carpet) with hot water and a tablespoon or 2 of Oxy Clean. I then sprinkle the carpet heavily, being careful not to soak it. This saves trips to the sink to load up on clean, soapy water. Then use the Hoover normally.

8. Others have suggested using boiling water. Not for me, thanks. Too dangerous to handle and unnecessary, unless you've spilled or tracked in grease.

After reading countless reviews here, I have concluded that the problems people have encountered are from failing to properly set up the machine initially, failing to seat the dirty water lid properly, or failing to clean the machine after use. I recommend this Hoover. It won't perform miracles, but I think if it is not abused it will last a long time and do an excellent job of maintaining a carpet.

I have used things like towels, tissue, paper towels, to wipe my glasses.

Wow, I am impressed!This really did work.I was a little skeptical, but I figured it would be worth a try.I have to admit, I did not follow the instructions on the packaging.I made a saturated solution using warm water and poured it down my kitchen sink.Then I only waited 12 hours before running some hot water down the drain to see if it worked.At first it didn't appear to be draining better, but as the water went through and flushed out the pipes, I could really see the difference.Since this is an enzyme cleaner that works by digesting food and fat particles, I wouldn't recommend this for clogs caused by hair, but it worked great in the kitchen sink!AND there was no nasty chemical smell left behind!

Safari Self-Cleaning Slicker Brush for Dogs Review

We have several large, long-haired dogs with lots of undercoat. I had a similar brush that did not self-clean, and it worked nicely, but I had to use a comb every few strokes to clean out the hair. That was a pain when I'm trying to keep a dog standing still for me, but who thinks that every time I stop that the grooming session is over because I had both hands tied up with cleaning the brush. Now, I can keep one hand on the dog at all times. Just push the button, wipe or shake off the hair, and keep brushing. I recommend buying a good rake also if you have a dog with undercoat (rake first, then brush with this brush). Having the right grooming tools is so worth the expense, especially when you compare the cost of tools with the cost of even one professional grooming session.

Drinkwell Pet Fountain Cleaning Kit Review

My complaint for these brushes is the poor product design, specifically, with the tips of the biggest and the smallest brushes. To clean around all the sharp corners well, it is important for the tips of these brushes to be covered with a lot of bristles. Guess what, the tip of the smallest brush is prety much dominated by the metal wires, so when you try to clean, instead of getting the bristles to touch and rub against the surfaces, it's mostly the metal wires that come into contact. Last time I checked, it's the bristles that clean, not the metal wire. Same with the biggest brush: The way the metal wires wrap around the sponge tip to hold it to the handle prevents the sponge from coming into full contact with the surfaces.

The product designers for the brushes don't deserve to be product designers. Do you know how much it takes to design a simple floor mop? A lot. A good product designer has to think about which yarn absorbs water well, how much water to absorb so the mop won't be hard to wring, what wringing mechanism to use, how long the handle should be, how thick the handle should be, how the mop head comes into contact with the floor, and so forth, in order to maximize ease of use and effectiveness.

The designers of the brushes are a failure. It seems that not much thought went into the design. Yes, we are dealing with just brushes, but even brushes should do the job they are supposed to do well.

The Bona X Hardwood Floor Refresher - 32 oz. Bottle is sold alone or with a package including applicator, etc.I purchased only the 32 oz floor refresher.I apply it with a mop covered with a clean/old T-shirt.(not consistent with directions)I have been using it for two months.

I am satisfied with this product, it performs as well as advertised.It produces a shine on a hardwood floor that has dulled.The consumer can control the amount of shine by carefully controlling the amount of refresher used.

The directions for use are on a fold out label found on the back of the bottle.The product works well when used as directed.

As with any surface applications (paint, stain, etc) 90% of the work is in the surface preparation.Vacuum and carefully damp mop as the floor must be clean and dry for treatment.The directions say to rock the bottle to mix the contents.This may mean to gently swirl the product without causing bubbles in the solution.I have had no apparent problems from air bubbles in the treatment.The mop or applicator should be damp before using.The treatment can be applied with mop strokes in any direction, but always finish with strokes in the direction of the woodgrain.

The directions also say to use about 32 oz (one bottle) for 500 sq ft.This will really produce a shine.The applicator/mop seems to float on top of the fluid layer when using this much solution.The treatment dries faster than a similar amount of water, always less than the suggested one hour.

The solution is dispensed from a plastic squeeze bottle, and it squirts out in a narrow stream.One has to squeeze a little bit to get any solution at all, and it sometimes splatters a little.Be careful.There are sometimes inconsistencies in the product.It is mainly a clear liquid, but an occasional discharge, much like eggdrop soup, will come out the nozzle.Maybe I am not "rocking" enough.

This product will restore shine to a dull floor.If you are not sure how much shine you want, apply thin coats.Each coat will increase the shine more.Stop when you see what you want.Be aware that a shiny floor shows flaws much more than a dull floor.Any scratches, gouges or indentions will become much more obvious.In addition, it will not fix a worn out floor if the floor has worn beyond the dull finish stage.If the floor has worn to wood and the stain is gone, or there is a worn spot in a high traffic area, look for a different approach.

The shine does wear with traffic and food/drink spills.I have been touching up the finish by using a small amount of refresher after damp mopping to restore the shine.(This is not consistent with the directions on the bottle)So far this "freshen up" has been once per month, but the frequency may change.

I have been using this product 2 years now.Results are consistent and good for my needs.I have no complaints.We typically touch up the floor 3-5 times per year before entertaining at home.This always results in a very nice shine.The repeated application of thin layers accumulates.The floors we have been treating now look better than the rooms with little or no traffic, but that have never been "refreshed."As in the earlier review, 90% of the work is on the cleaning preparation.

For a person who LOVES a clean house but HATES cleaning, the entire Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day line has HAPPILY turned our home into a 'clean home'.

Although I love ALL of her products (there are some scents I prefer over others), I have to say that her Countertop Sprays are PHENOMENAL!!They add this special Vegetable Protein Extract to both the Countertop Spray and to her dishwashing liquid and it will LITERALLY ELIMINATE ANY offensive odor that you could imagine in the kitchen.

If you opened a can of tuna and the water spilled, you could spritz the spilled tuna water on your counter, wipe it up and smell nothing but this HEAVENLY Basil scent in your kitchen and on your counter!

Not only is this Basil scent just EXHILERATING, her countertop sprays are wonderful at cutting grease, dirt, grime and most stains (some stubborn stains need to be left soaking for a couple of minutes until it dissolves).

I love how her Basil scent just fills the air with this fresh, clean aroma!
